Para 23 - وَ مَا لِیَ

سورة الصفت

بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ

37.104-105-106-107-108-109-110-111

وَ نَادَیْنٰهُ اَنْ یّٰۤاِبْرٰهِیْمُۙ (104) قَدْ صَدَّقْتَ الرُّءْیَاۚ-اِنَّا كَذٰلِكَ نَجْزِی الْمُحْسِنِیْنَ(105) اِنَّ هٰذَا لَهُوَ الْبَلٰٓؤُا الْمُبِیْنُ(106) وَ فَدَیْنٰهُ بِذِبْحٍ عَظِیْمٍ(107) وَ تَرَكْنَا عَلَیْهِ فِی الْاٰخِرِیْنَۖ (108) سَلٰمٌ عَلٰۤى اِبْرٰهِیْمَ(109) كَذٰلِكَ نَجْزِی الْمُحْسِنِیْنَ(110) اِنَّهٗ مِنْ عِبَادِنَا الْمُؤْمِنِیْنَ(111)

Kanz-ul-Irfan

And We called out to him, “O Ibrāhīm! You have certainly fulfilled the dream; thus We reward the virtuous.” Indeed, this was a clear trial. [1] And We ransomed him with a great sacrifice. [1] And We maintained his praise among the later generations. Peace be upon Ibrāhīm. Thus, We recompense the virtuous. He is from Our people who have the highest level of perfect faith.

Commentary

Prophet Ibrāhīm عَـلَيْـهِ الـسَّـلَام had already sacrificed his wealth and had left his country, and now he also presented his son to be sacrificed upon the command of Allah Almighty. Furthermore, it was the very same son that was granted to him in his final years after much supplication; this son, who he brought up himself, was the joy of the house and the comfort of his eyes. Indeed, this was a significant trial.

This sacrifice was referred to as a great sacrifice due to the nature of its importance, which is the fact that this was the sacrificing of the Prophet عَـلَيْـهِ الـسَّـلاَم whose lineage the Final Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم belonged to.(Tafsīr Al-Bayḍāwī, Al-Ṣāffāt, under the verse 107, vol. 5, p. 22)
