Surah Ibrahim Ayat 46-47 Translation Tafseer

Para 13 - وَ مَاۤ اُبَرِّئُ

سورة ابرهيم

بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ

14.46-47

وَ قَدْ مَكَرُوْا مَكْرَهُمْ وَ عِنْدَ اللّٰهِ مَكْرُهُمْؕ- وَ اِنْ كَانَ مَكْرُهُمْ لِتَزُوْلَ مِنْهُ الْجِبَالُ(46) فَلَا تَحْسَبَنَّ اللّٰهَ مُخْلِفَ وَعْدِهٖ رُسُلَهٗؕ- اِنَّ اللّٰهَ عَزِیْزٌ ذُو انْتِقَامٍﭤ(47)

Kanz-ul-Irfan

And they certainly implemented their plot,[1] but Allah was in control of their plot; and their plotting was not such that could displace mountains.[2] So never think that Allah would go against His promise to His messengers; Allah is Predominant, the Executer of retribution.

Commentary

According to one opinion of Quranic commentators here “plot” refers to the plan of the Makkan disbelievers to martyr, or imprison, or banish the Beloved Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم.

The summary of this verse is that Quranic verses and religious laws are like mountains which cannot be moved by the deception and plotting of the disbelievers.
