Surah Sad Ayat 62-63-64 Translation Tafseer

Para 23 - وَ مَا لِیَ

بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ

38.62-63-64

وَ قَالُوْا مَا لَنَا لَا نَرٰى رِجَالًا كُنَّا نَعُدُّهُمْ مِّنَ الْاَشْرَارِﭤ(62) اَتَّخَذْنٰهُمْ سِخْرِیًّا اَمْ زَاغَتْ عَنْهُمُ الْاَبْصَارُ(63) اِنَّ ذٰلِكَ لَحَقٌّ تَخَاصُمُ اَهْلِ النَّارِ۠ (64)

Kanz-ul-Irfan

And they (the disbelievers) will say, “What is the matter with us that we do not see the men whom we had considered to be among the wicked? Did we take them in mockery or have eyes swerved away from them?” [1] This mutual disputing of the people of the Fire is true.

Commentary

Not seeing the poor believers in Hell, the leaders of the disbelievers will say: “Why can we not see the poor believers, those who we considered in the world amongst the bad, those who we deemed as evil due to them opposing our faith, those we perceived as inferior because they were poor?” They will then say: “Did we not make a mockery of them, whereas in reality they were not like this, and they are not in Hell? Our mockery of them was therefore false and wrong. Our eyes swerved away from them, which is why we did not see them.”
