Para 29 - تَبٰرَكَ الَّذِیْ

بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ

69.25-29

وَ اَمَّا مَنْ اُوْتِیَ كِتٰبَهٗ بِشِمَالِهٖ ﳔ فَیَقُوْلُ یٰلَیْتَنِیْ لَمْ اُوْتَ كِتٰبِیَهْۚ (25) وَ لَمْ اَدْرِ مَا حِسَابِیَهْۚ (26) یٰلَیْتَهَا كَانَتِ الْقَاضِیَةَۚ (27) مَاۤ اَغْنٰى عَنِّیْ مَالِیَهْۚ (28) هَلَكَ عَنِّیْ سُلْطٰنِیَهْۚ (29)

Kanz ul Iman Kanz ul Irfan

English translation of Kanz-ul-Irfan

And, as for the one who will be given his record of deeds in his left hand, he will say, “Alas, would that I had never been given my record of deeds. And I had not known my accountability. Alas, would that it (death) had ended my matter. My wealth has not availed me. My power has gone from me.”[1]

Commentary

One meaning of the word sulṭān is domination, and another meaning is proof. In this verse, both meanings would be correct. In the first instance, the verse would mean that the domination and supremacy which one had over others in this world is of no avail on the Day of Judgement. In the second instance, the verse would mean that all the proofs which one presented in this world are all invalid; now, there is no proof that will grant protection from punishment.
