Para 29 - تَبٰرَكَ الَّذِیْ

بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ

71.10-12

فَقُلْتُ اسْتَغْفِرُوْا رَبَّكُمْؕ-اِنَّهٗ كَانَ غَفَّارًاۙ (10) یُّرْسِلِ السَّمَآءَ عَلَیْكُمْ مِّدْرَارًاۙ (11) وَّ یُمْدِدْكُمْ بِاَمْوَالٍ وَّ بَنِیْنَ وَ یَجْعَلْ لَّكُمْ جَنّٰتٍ وَّ یَجْعَلْ لَّكُمْ اَنْهٰرًاﭤ(12)

Kanz ul Iman Kanz ul Irfan

English translation of Kanz-ul-Irfan

So I said, ‘˹O people˺, Seek forgiveness from your Lord;[1] He is Most-Forgiving. He will send heavy rain upon you, and He will grant you aid through wealth and sons and He will make gardens for you and He will make streams for you.[1]

Commentary

Prophet Nūḥ’s people continued to reject him for a long time, and so Allah Almighty withheld rain from them and made their women barren for forty years. Their wealth had been destroyed and their animals died. When their state was such, Prophet Nūḥ عَـلَيْـهِ الـسَّـلاَم said to them: “O people! Ask your Lord for forgiveness for your disbelief and polytheism. Accept faith in Allah Almighty and ask for His forgiveness, so that He may open His doors of mercy for you. Obeying and worshipping Allah Almighty brings peace, blessings, and joy into one’s life. [Conversely,] disbelief eventually brings ruin to life in this world as well.”

Seeking forgiveness from Allah Almighty and repenting for one’s sins bring about countless blessings. A hadith states: “Whoever necessitates seeking forgiveness [for himself], Allah Almighty will grant him relief from every sorrow and a way out from every difficulty, and He will grant him sustenance from a place he never thought of.” (Sunan Ibn Mājah: 3819)
