Surah Ash Shura Ayat 53-54-55-56 Translation Tafseer

Para 19 - وَ قَالَ الَّذِیْنَ

بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ

26.53-54-55-56

فَاَرْسَلَ فِرْعَوْنُ فِی الْمَدَآىٕنِ حٰشِرِیْنَۚ (53) اِنَّ هٰۤؤُلَآءِ لَشِرْذِمَةٌ قَلِیْلُوْنَۙ (54) وَ اِنَّهُمْ لَنَا لَغَآىٕظُوْنَۙ (55) وَ اِنَّا لَجَمِیْعٌ حٰذِرُوْنَﭤ(56)

Kanz-ul-Irfan

So Pharaoh sent gatherers to the cities. (Saying) “Indeed these people are a small faction.[1] And they anger us. And we are all vigilant.”

Commentary

Although the number of the Israelites was in the hundreds of thousands, they were weak and poor people, which is why Pharaoh—considering them to be inferior—said, “These people are a small faction.”
