Surah Al Fath Ayat 11 Tafseer

Para 26 - حٰمٓ

سورة الفتح

بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ

48.11-13

سَیَقُوْلُ لَكَ الْمُخَلَّفُوْنَ مِنَ الْاَعْرَابِ شَغَلَتْنَاۤ اَمْوَالُنَا وَ اَهْلُوْنَا فَاسْتَغْفِرْ لَنَاۚ-یَقُوْلُوْنَ بِاَلْسِنَتِهِمْ مَّا لَیْسَ فِیْ قُلُوْبِهِمْؕ-قُلْ فَمَنْ یَّمْلِكُ لَكُمْ مِّنَ اللّٰهِ شَیْــٴًـا اِنْ اَرَادَ بِكُمْ ضَرًّا اَوْ اَرَادَ بِكُمْ نَفْعًاؕ-بَلْ كَانَ اللّٰهُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُوْنَ خَبِیْرًا(11) بَلْ ظَنَنْتُمْ اَنْ لَّنْ یَّنْقَلِبَ الرَّسُوْلُ وَ الْمُؤْمِنُوْنَ اِلٰۤى اَهْلِیْهِمْ اَبَدًا وَّ زُیِّنَ ذٰلِكَ فِیْ قُلُوْبِكُمْ وَ ظَنَنْتُمْ ظَنَّ السَّوْءِ ۚۖ-وَ كُنْتُمْ قَوْمًۢا بُوْرًا(12) وَ مَنْ لَّمْ یُؤْمِنْۢ بِاللّٰهِ وَ رَسُوْلِهٖ فَاِنَّاۤ اَعْتَدْنَا لِلْكٰفِرِیْنَ سَعِیْرًا(13)

Kanz ul Iman Kanz ul Irfan

English translation of Kanz-ul-Imaan

The dwellers of the desert (i.e. Bedouins) who had stayed behind (because of their hypocrisy) will now say to you that 'Our wealth and our families prevented us from going (to 'Umrah with the Holy Prophet) by keeping us preoccupied, now (O Prophet) seek forgiveness for us.' They utter with their tongues that which is not in their hearts; say you (O Beloved), 'So, does anyone have power over you against Allah if He wills to harm you or intends goodness for you? Rather, Allah is Aware of your deeds.' 'Rather, you had assumed that the Messenger and the Muslims will never return to their homes, and you considered this to be good within your hearts, and you had evil thoughts; and you were a people about to be ruined.' And whoever does not accept faith in Allah and His (Beloved) Messenger, so We have indeed kept prepared a Blazing Fire for the disbelievers.

Commentary

When the Beloved Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم intended to go to Makkah in the year of Hudaybiyyah to perform Umrah, the residents of the nearby towns and villages did not accompany him, claiming that they were busy. In reality, they feared the power of Quraysh and assumed that the Muslims would not return from them safely. With the grace and bounty of Allah Almighty, the matter transpired in complete opposition to their assumption. In this verse, unseen news regarding the excuse of those people was given, which was accurately fulfilled.

Allah Almighty referred to all those who travelled with the Final Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم on this journey of Umrah as ‘believers’, so the faith of these Companions is established through the testimony of Allah Himself.
