Para 18 - قَدْ اَفْلَحَ

بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ

24.63

لَا تَجْعَلُوْا دُعَآءَ الرَّسُوْلِ بَیْنَكُمْ كَدُعَآءِ بَعْضِكُمْ بَعْضًاؕ-قَدْ یَعْلَمُ اللّٰهُ الَّذِیْنَ یَتَسَلَّلُوْنَ مِنْكُمْ لِوَاذًاۚ-فَلْیَحْذَرِ الَّذِیْنَ یُخَالِفُوْنَ عَنْ اَمْرِهٖۤ اَنْ تُصِیْبَهُمْ فِتْنَةٌ اَوْ یُصِیْبَهُمْ عَذَابٌ اَلِیْمٌ(63)

English translation of Kanz-ul-Imaan

(O people!) Do not make the calling of the Messenger amongst yourselves just like one calls the other amongst yourselves. Indeed, Allah knows those amongst you who slip away quietly taking the cover of some excuse; so, those who go against the orders of the (Beloved) Messenger should fear that a trial may reach them or a painful punishment befall them.

Commentary

One meaning of this is that: O people! Do not consider the calling of the Messenger of Allah صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم as a minor issue the way you call one another, because if the Messenger of Allah صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم calls, it is necessary to respond and act, and it becomes necessary to present yourself respectfully. Another meaning is that: O people! Do not call the Messenger of Allah by using his name. Rather, call him with deep reverence, honour, and in a humble tone of voice by using words like “یَارَسُوْلَ اﷲ، یَانَبِیَّ اﷲ، یَاحَبِیْبَ اﷲ، یَااِمَامَ الْمُرْسَلِیْنَ، یَارَسُوْلَ رَبِّ الْعٰلَمِیْنَ، یَا خَاتَمَ النَّبِیِّیْنَ” This command is general, as it is not permissible to call the Beloved Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم with words that do not express respect, both during his physical life and after his apparent passing.
