Surah Ar Rad Ayat 33 Tafseer

Para 13 - وَ مَاۤ اُبَرِّئُ

بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ

13.33

اَفَمَنْ هُوَ قَآىٕمٌ عَلٰى كُلِّ نَفْسٍۭ بِمَا كَسَبَتْۚ-وَ جَعَلُوْا لِلّٰهِ شُرَكَآءَؕ-قُلْ سَمُّوْهُمْؕ-اَمْ تُنَبِّــٴُـوْنَهٗ بِمَا لَا یَعْلَمُ فِی الْاَرْضِ اَمْ بِظَاهِرٍ مِّنَ الْقَوْلِؕ-بَلْ زُیِّنَ لِلَّذِیْنَ كَفَرُوْا مَكْرُهُمْ وَ صُدُّوْا عَنِ السَّبِیْلِؕ-وَ مَنْ یُّضْلِلِ اللّٰهُ فَمَا لَهٗ مِنْ هَادٍ(33)

Kanz ul Iman Kanz ul Irfan

English translation of Kanz-ul-Irfan

So is He (Allah) who oversees the actions of every soul (like the idols?); and they ascribe partners to Allah. Say, “Name them. Rather, you relate to Allah that which He does not know of in the earth?[1] Or a meaningless statement.” Rather, the deception of the disbelievers has been beautified for them and they have been prevented from the path. And whomsoever Allah misguides, there is no guide for him.

Commentary

This means there is no partner of Allah Almighty in the earth; had it been possible for a partner of Allah to exist, He would have known, as His knowledge encompasses everything, so that which is not in His knowledge is simply non-existent. Therefore, the idea of a partner or equal for Allah Almighty is false and rationally impossible. This verse does not negate Allah’s knowledge, rather, it negates the possibility of Him having a partner.
