Para 18 - قَدْ اَفْلَحَ

بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ

24.51

اِنَّمَا كَانَ قَوْلَ الْمُؤْمِنِیْنَ اِذَا دُعُوْۤا اِلَى اللّٰهِ وَ رَسُوْلِهٖ لِیَحْكُمَ بَیْنَهُمْ اَنْ یَّقُوْلُوْا سَمِعْنَا وَ اَطَعْنَاؕ-وَ اُولٰٓىٕكَ هُمُ الْمُفْلِحُوْنَ(51)

English translation of Kanz-ul-Irfan

The word of the Muslims is only this that when they are called to Allah and His Messenger that He may judge between them, they say, “We hear and We obey”—and these people are the successful.[1]

Commentary

It was previously mentioned that the hypocrites feared coming to the Beloved Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم, whereas, this verse lauds the good conduct of the believers who answered, “We hear and we obey”, when called to obey the injunctions of Allah Almighty and His Messenger صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم One should not resort to personal preference when the Beloved Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم has passed judgement, nor should one make his intelligence the absolute standard in the matter of accepting or not accepting the Prophetic verdict. Rather, just as a sick person trusts his doctor for treatment and utilises the medicine prescribed by him without any complaint, similarly—in fact, to a greater degree—a person should present his affairs to the Final Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم and accept every judgement of his. Our intellects are deficient, and the intellect of the Beloved Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم is illuminated with the blessed light of Revelation and is the most perfect in the entire universe. Compliance with the aforementioned advice will bring worldly and religious success.
