بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ

2.286

لَا یُكَلِّفُ اللّٰهُ نَفْسًا اِلَّا وُسْعَهَاؕ-لَهَا مَا كَسَبَتْ وَ عَلَیْهَا مَا اكْتَسَبَتْؕ-رَبَّنَا لَا تُؤَاخِذْنَاۤ اِنْ نَّسِیْنَاۤ اَوْ اَخْطَاْنَاۚ-رَبَّنَا وَ لَا تَحْمِلْ عَلَیْنَاۤ اِصْرًا كَمَا حَمَلْتَهٗ عَلَى الَّذِیْنَ مِنْ قَبْلِنَاۚ-رَبَّنَا وَ لَا تُحَمِّلْنَا مَا لَا طَاقَةَ لَنَا بِهٖۚ-وَ اعْفُ عَنَّاٙ-وَ اغْفِرْ لَنَاٙ-وَ ارْحَمْنَاٙ-اَنْتَ مَوْلٰىنَا فَانْصُرْنَا عَلَى الْقَوْمِ الْكٰفِرِیْنَ۠ (286)

Kanz ul Iman Kanz ul Irfan

English translation of Kanz-ul-Imaan

Allah does not place a burden upon any soul except to the extent of its strength; beneficial for it is the goodness it earned, and harmful for it is the evil it earned. 'O our Lord, do not seize us if we forget or have made a mistake. O our Lord, and do not place a heavy burden upon us as You have placed upon those before us. O our Lord, and do not place upon us a burden, for which we do not have the strength (to bear). And pardon us, and forgive us, and have mercy upon us. You are our Master, so help us against the disbelievers.'

Commentary

This verse is about the reward and punishment of the Hereafter. However, such a situation often occurs in this world too that generally a person attains the fruit of his endeavours; a hard-working individual reaches his targets whereas a lazy person faces the outcome of his laziness.
