Surah Al Isra Urdu Translation

17.0

بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ

In the name of Allah, the Infinitely Gracious, the Most Merciful

17.1

سُبْحٰنَ الَّذِیْۤ اَسْرٰى بِعَبْدِهٖ لَیْلًا مِّنَ الْمَسْجِدِ الْحَرَامِ اِلَى الْمَسْجِدِ الْاَقْصَا الَّذِیْ بٰرَكْنَا حَوْلَهٗ لِنُرِیَهٗ مِنْ اٰیٰتِنَاؕ-اِنَّهٗ هُوَ السَّمِیْعُ الْبَصِیْرُ(1)

Kanz ul Iman Kanz ul Irfan

Pure is He who took His chosen one during part of the night from Al-Masjid Al-Ḥarām to Al-Masjid Al-Aqṣā around which[1] We have placed blessings, so that We may show him Our magnificent signs;[2] indeed He is the All-Hearing, the All-Seeing.

17.2

وَ اٰتَیْنَا مُوْسَى الْكِتٰبَ وَ جَعَلْنٰهُ هُدًى لِّبَنِیْۤ اِسْرَآءِیْلَ اَلَّا تَتَّخِذُوْا مِنْ دُوْنِیْ وَكِیْلًاﭤ(2)

Kanz ul Iman Kanz ul Irfan

And We granted Mūsā the Book and made it guidance for the Children of Israel that you do not make anyone Disposer of affairs other than Me.

17.3

ذُرِّیَّةَ مَنْ حَمَلْنَا مَعَ نُوْحٍؕ-اِنَّهٗ كَانَ عَبْدًا شَكُوْرًا(3)

Kanz ul Iman Kanz ul Irfan

O descendants of those whom We carried with Nūḥ; he was a most grateful person[1].

17.4

وَ قَضَیْنَاۤ اِلٰى بَنِیْۤ اِسْرَآءِیْلَ فِی الْكِتٰبِ لَتُفْسِدُنَّ فِی الْاَرْضِ مَرَّتَیْنِ وَ لَتَعْلُنَّ عُلُوًّا كَبِیْرًا(4)

Kanz ul Iman Kanz ul Irfan

And We sent a Revelation to the Children of Israel in the Book, “You will most certainly create discord in the earth twice, and you will most certainly be deeply arrogant.”

17.5

فَاِذَا جَآءَ وَعْدُ اُوْلٰىهُمَا بَعَثْنَا عَلَیْكُمْ عِبَادًا لَّنَاۤ اُولِیْ بَاْسٍ شَدِیْدٍ فَجَاسُوْا خِلٰلَ الدِّیَارِ وَ كَانَ وَعْدًا مَّفْعُوْلًا(5)

Kanz ul Iman Kanz ul Irfan

So when the first promise of the two came to pass, We unleashed upon you Our people who were ferociously violent; so they invaded the cities to search ˹for you˺—and that was a promise which was to be fulfilled[1].

17.6

ثُمَّ رَدَدْنَا لَكُمُ الْكَرَّةَ عَلَیْهِمْ وَ اَمْدَدْنٰكُمْ بِاَمْوَالٍ وَّ بَنِیْنَ وَ جَعَلْنٰكُمْ اَكْثَرَ نَفِیْرًا(6)

Kanz ul Iman Kanz ul Irfan

Then We granted you a turn of predominance over them, and helped you through wealth and sons, and made you greater in number[1].

17.7

اِنْ اَحْسَنْتُمْ اَحْسَنْتُمْ لِاَنْفُسِكُمْ- وَ اِنْ اَسَاْتُمْ فَلَهَاؕ-فَاِذَا جَآءَ وَعْدُ الْاٰخِرَةِ لِیَسُوْٓءٗا وُجُوْهَكُمْ وَ لِیَدْخُلُوا الْمَسْجِدَ كَمَا دَخَلُوْهُ اَوَّلَ مَرَّةٍ وَّ لِیُتَبِّرُوْا مَا عَلَوْا تَتْبِیْرًا(7)

Kanz ul Iman Kanz ul Irfan

If you do good, then you will only do good for yourselves, and if you commit evil, then it will only be for yourselves. When the second promise came to pass, ˹We unleashed your enemies˺ to disfigure your faces, and to enter the Masjid just as they had entered it the first time, and to completely destroy that which they overpowered[1].

17.8

عَسٰى رَبُّكُمْ اَنْ یَّرْحَمَكُمْۚ-وَ اِنْ عُدْتُّمْ عُدْنَاۘ-وَ جَعَلْنَا جَهَنَّمَ لِلْكٰفِرِیْنَ حَصِیْرًا(8)

Kanz ul Iman Kanz ul Irfan

It is near that your Lord may have mercy on you. And if you will return (to sin), then We shall repeat ˹the punishment˺—and We have made Hell a prison for the disbelievers.

17.9

اِنَّ هٰذَا الْقُرْاٰنَ یَهْدِیْ لِلَّتِیْ هِیَ اَقْوَمُ وَ یُبَشِّرُ الْمُؤْمِنِیْنَ الَّذِیْنَ یَعْمَلُوْنَ الصّٰلِحٰتِ اَنَّ لَهُمْ اَجْرًا كَبِیْرًاۙ (9)

Kanz ul Iman Kanz ul Irfan

Indeed this Quran guides to the path which is the straightest and gives glad tidings to the believers who perform righteous deeds that there is a great reward for them;
