Surah Ibrahim Urdu Translation

14.0

بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ

In the name of Allah, the Infinitely Gracious, the Most Merciful.

14.1

الٓرٰ- كِتٰبٌ اَنْزَلْنٰهُ اِلَیْكَ لِتُخْرِ جَ النَّاسَ مِنَ الظُّلُمٰتِ اِلَى النُّوْرِ ﳔ بِاِذْنِ رَبِّهِمْ اِلٰى صِرَاطِ الْعَزِیْزِ الْحَمِیْدِۙ (1)

Kanz ul Iman Kanz ul Irfan

Alif Lām Rā. This is a Book which We have revealed to you that you may bring the people out of the darkness towards the light, with the command of your Lord,[1] towards the path of the Exalted, the Most Praiseworthy.[2]

14.2

اللّٰهِ الَّذِیْ لَهٗ مَا فِی السَّمٰوٰتِ وَ مَا فِی الْاَرْضِؕ-وَ وَیْلٌ لِّلْكٰفِرِیْنَ مِنْ عَذَابٍ شَدِیْدِﹰۙ (2)

Kanz ul Iman Kanz ul Irfan

It is Allah to Whom belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth. And there is destruction for the disbelievers through a severe punishment.

14.3

الَّذِیْنَ یَسْتَحِبُّوْنَ الْحَیٰوةَ الدُّنْیَا عَلَى الْاٰخِرَةِ وَ یَصُدُّوْنَ عَنْ سَبِیْلِ اللّٰهِ وَ یَبْغُوْنَهَا عِوَجًاؕ-اُولٰٓىٕكَ فِیْ ضَلٰلٍۭ بَعِیْدٍ(3)

Kanz ul Iman Kanz ul Irfan

Those who prefer the life of this world over the Hereafter, and prevent from the way of Allah, and desire to make it crooked;[1] they are far astray.

14.4

وَ مَاۤ اَرْسَلْنَا مِنْ رَّسُوْلٍ اِلَّا بِلِسَانِ قَوْمِهٖ لِیُبَیِّنَ لَهُمْؕ-فَیُضِلُّ اللّٰهُ مَنْ یَّشَآءُ وَ یَهْدِیْ مَنْ یَّشَآءُؕ-وَ هُوَ الْعَزِیْزُ الْحَكِیْمُ(4)

Kanz ul Iman Kanz ul Irfan

And we did not send any Messenger except with the language of his nation that he may clearly relate to them. So, Allah leaves to stray whomsoever He wills and He guides whomsoever He wills; and He is the Exalted, the Most Wise.

14.5

وَ لَقَدْ اَرْسَلْنَا مُوْسٰى بِاٰیٰتِنَاۤ اَنْ اَخْرِ جْ قَوْمَكَ مِنَ الظُّلُمٰتِ اِلَى النُّوْرِ ﳔ وَ ذَكِّرْهُمْ بِاَیّٰىمِ اللّٰهِؕ-اِنَّ فِیْ ذٰلِكَ لَاٰیٰتٍ لِّكُلِّ صَبَّارٍ شَكُوْرٍ(5)

Kanz ul Iman Kanz ul Irfan

And undoubtedly, We sent Mūsā with Our signs, ˹saying,˺ “Take your nation out of darkness towards the light;[1] and remind them of the days of Allah.”[2] In this, there are signs for every exceedingly patient, most grateful individual.

14.6

وَ اِذْ قَالَ مُوْسٰى لِقَوْمِهِ اذْكُرُوْا نِعْمَةَ اللّٰهِ عَلَیْكُمْ اِذْ اَنْجٰىكُمْ مِّنْ اٰلِ فِرْعَوْنَ یَسُوْمُوْنَكُمْ سُوْٓءَ الْعَذَابِ وَ یُذَبِّحُوْنَ اَبْنَآءَكُمْ وَ یَسْتَحْیُوْنَ نِسَآءَكُمْؕ-وَ فِیْ ذٰلِكُمْ بَلَآءٌ مِّنْ رَّبِّكُمْ عَظِیْمٌ۠ (6)

Kanz ul Iman Kanz ul Irfan

And when Mūsā said to his nation, “Remember the Favour of Allah upon you when He granted you salvation from the People of Pharaoh, who were afflicting you with severe torture, slaughtering your sons and sparing the lives of your daughters; and in this there was a great trial from your Lord.”

14.7

وَ اِذْ تَاَذَّنَ رَبُّكُمْ لَىٕنْ شَكَرْتُمْ لَاَزِیْدَنَّكُمْ وَ لَىٕنْ كَفَرْتُمْ اِنَّ عَذَابِیْ لَشَدِیْدٌ(7)

Kanz ul Iman Kanz ul Irfan

And remember when your Lord declared, “If you thank Me, then I shall most definitely grant you more, and if you are ungrateful, (then) indeed my punishment is severe.”

14.8

وَ قَالَ مُوْسٰۤى اِنْ تَكْفُرُوْۤا اَنْتُمْ وَ مَنْ فِی الْاَرْضِ جَمِیْعًاۙ-فَاِنَّ اللّٰهَ لَغَنِیٌّ حَمِیْدٌ(8)

Kanz ul Iman Kanz ul Irfan

And Mūsā said ˹to his people,˺ “ ˹Even˺ if you and whosoever is in the earth all become ungrateful, Allah is Infinitely Independent, Most Praiseworthy.”

14.9

اَلَمْ یَاْتِكُمْ نَبَؤُا الَّذِیْنَ مِنْ قَبْلِكُمْ قَوْمِ نُوْحٍ وَّ عَادٍ وَّ ثَمُوْدَ ﲣ وَ الَّذِیْنَ مِنْۢ بَعْدِهِمْ ﳍ لَا یَعْلَمُهُمْ اِلَّا اللّٰهُؕ-جَآءَتْهُمْ رُسُلُهُمْ بِالْبَیِّنٰتِ فَرَدُّوْۤا اَیْدِیَهُمْ فِیْۤ اَفْوَاهِهِمْ وَ قَالُوْۤا اِنَّا كَفَرْنَا بِمَاۤ اُرْسِلْتُمْ بِهٖ وَ اِنَّا لَفِیْ شَكٍّ مِّمَّا تَدْعُوْنَنَاۤ اِلَیْهِ مُرِیْبٍٝ (9)

Kanz ul Iman Kanz ul Irfan

Have you not received news about those who preceded;[1] the nation of Nūḥ, ꜤĀd, Thamūd, and those after them? Only Allah knows ˹how many they were˺.[2] Their messengers came to them with clear evidence, but they placed their hands in their mouths and said, “We disbelieve in that which you have been sent with, and we are sceptical about what you call us towards.”
