Surah Al Kahf Urdu Translation

18.1

اَلْحَمْدُ لِلّٰهِ الَّذِیْۤ اَنْزَلَ عَلٰى عَبْدِهِ الْكِتٰبَ وَ لَمْ یَجْعَلْ لَّهٗ عِوَجًاﭧ(1)

All praise is for Allah Who revealed the Book upon his chosen one[1] and did not place any crookedness therein[2],

18.2

قَیِّمًا لِّیُنْذِرَ بَاْسًا شَدِیْدًا مِّنْ لَّدُنْهُ وَ یُبَشِّرَ الْمُؤْمِنِیْنَ الَّذِیْنَ یَعْمَلُوْنَ الصّٰلِحٰتِ اَنَّ لَهُمْ اَجْرًا حَسَنًاۙ (2)

Kanz ul Iman Kanz ul Irfan

upholding the benefit of people, a balanced Book, that it may warn of severe torment from Him, and gives glad tidings to the believers who perform deeds of righteousness that for them there is excellent reward ˹of Paradise˺;

18.3

مَّاكِثِیْنَ فِیْهِ اَبَدًاۙ (3)

Kanz ul Iman Kanz ul Irfan

they will reside therein forever.

18.4

وَّ یُنْذِرَ الَّذِیْنَ قَالُوا اتَّخَذَ اللّٰهُ وَلَدًاۗ (4)

Kanz ul Iman Kanz ul Irfan

And to warn those who say, “Allah has taken a child.”

18.5

مَا لَهُمْ بِهٖ مِنْ عِلْمٍ وَّ لَا لِاٰبَآىٕهِمْؕ-كَبُرَتْ كَلِمَةً تَخْرُ جُ مِنْ اَفْوَاهِهِمْؕ-اِنْ یَّقُوْلُوْنَ اِلَّا كَذِبًا(5)

Kanz ul Iman Kanz ul Irfan

Neither they have knowledge, nor do their forefathers. How grave is that word which comes out of their mouths; they speak a lie.[1]

18.6

فَلَعَلَّكَ بَاخِعٌ نَّفْسَكَ عَلٰۤى اٰثَارِهِمْ اِنْ لَّمْ یُؤْمِنُوْا بِهٰذَا الْحَدِیْثِ اَسَفًا(6)

Kanz ul Iman Kanz ul Irfan

So perhaps you will destroy your life in sorrow for them if they do not believe in this word.[1]

18.7

اِنَّا جَعَلْنَا مَا عَلَى الْاَرْضِ زِیْنَةً لَّهَا لِنَبْلُوَهُمْ اَیُّهُمْ اَحْسَنُ عَمَلًا(7)

Kanz ul Iman Kanz ul Irfan

We have made that which is upon the earth adornment for it that We may test them as to which of them is best in action.

18.8

وَ اِنَّا لَجٰعِلُوْنَ مَا عَلَیْهَا صَعِیْدًا جُرُزًاﭤ(8)

Kanz ul Iman Kanz ul Irfan

We shall make whatever is upon the earth a barren land.

18.9

اَمْ حَسِبْتَ اَنَّ اَصْحٰبَ الْـكَهْفِ وَ الرَّقِیْمِ كَانُوْا مِنْ اٰیٰتِنَا عَجَبًا(9)

Kanz ul Iman Kanz ul Irfan

Did you come to know that the People of the Cave (al-Kahf) and the Inscription were a marvel among Our signs?[1]

18.10

اِذْ اَوَى الْفِتْیَةُ اِلَى الْـكَهْفِ فَقَالُوْا رَبَّنَاۤ اٰتِنَا مِنْ لَّدُنْكَ رَحْمَةً وَّ هَیِّئْ لَنَا مِنْ اَمْرِنَا رَشَدًا(10)

Kanz ul Iman Kanz ul Irfan

When the young men took refuge in the cave, then they said, “O our Lord! Grant us mercy from Your Court and provide for us a means of guidance in our matter.”
