Surah Ad Dukhan Translation

44.0

بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ

Allah's Name to commence with, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

44.1

حٰمٓۚۛ (1)

Ha-Meem. (These are individual letters of the Arabic alphabet; Allah and His Messenger know their exact meanings.)

44.2

وَ الْكِتٰبِ الْمُبِیْنِۙۛ (2)

By the oath of that Luminous Book (i.e. the Qur'aan).

44.3

اِنَّاۤ اَنْزَلْنٰهُ فِیْ لَیْلَةٍ مُّبٰرَكَةٍ اِنَّا كُنَّا مُنْذِرِیْنَ(3)

We have indeed sent it down in a blessed night; indeed, it is We Who warn.

44.4

فِیْهَا یُفْرَقُ كُلُّ اَمْرٍ حَكِیْمٍۙ (4)

Therein are distributed all the works of wisdom.

44.5

اَمْرًا مِّنْ عِنْدِنَاؕ-اِنَّا كُنَّا مُرْسِلِیْنَۚ (5)

By a command from Us. Indeed, it is We Who send (Prophets).

44.6

رَحْمَةً مِّنْ رَّبِّكَؕ-اِنَّهٗ هُوَ السَّمِیْعُ الْعَلِیْمُۙ (6)

Mercy from your Lord; indeed, only He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing.

44.7

رَبِّ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَ الْاَرْضِ وَ مَا بَیْنَهُمَاۘ-اِنْ كُنْتُمْ مُّوْقِنِیْنَ(7)

He Who is the Lord of the heavens, and the earth and whatever is between them; (you will know this) if you have certainty.

44.8

لَاۤ اِلٰهَ اِلَّا هُوَ یُحْیٖ وَ یُمِیْتُؕ-رَبُّكُمْ وَ رَبُّ اٰبَآىٕكُمُ الْاَوَّلِیْنَ(8)

No one is worthy of worship except Him, He gives life and causes death; (He is) your Lord and the Lord of your previous forefathers.

44.9

بَلْ هُمْ فِیْ شَكٍّ یَّلْعَبُوْنَ(9)

Rather, they (i.e. the disbelievers) are in doubt, playing.
