Surah Al Muzzammil Translation

73.1

یٰۤاَیُّهَا الْمُزَّمِّلُۙ (1)

Kanz ul Iman Kanz ul Irfan

O you who wraps himself (in a shawl i.e. the Prophet Muhammad).

73.2

قُمِ الَّیْلَ اِلَّا قَلِیْلًاۙ (2)

Kanz ul Iman Kanz ul Irfan

Stand up (for prayer) during the night except some part of the night.

73.3

نِّصْفَهٗۤ اَوِ انْقُصْ مِنْهُ قَلِیْلًاۙ (3)

Kanz ul Iman Kanz ul Irfan

Half the night, or even a little less than that.

73.4

اَوْ زِدْ عَلَیْهِ وَ رَتِّلِ الْقُرْاٰنَ تَرْتِیْلًاﭤ(4)

Kanz ul Iman Kanz ul Irfan

Or increase a little on it, and recite the Qur'aan delightfully in slow distinct stages (i.e. each letter of the Qur'aan must be pronounced distinctively and correctly).

73.5

اِنَّا سَنُلْقِیْ عَلَیْكَ قَوْلًا ثَقِیْلًا(5)

Kanz ul Iman Kanz ul Irfan

Indeed, We shall soon decree a heavy Word (of commandments) upon you.

73.6

اِنَّ نَاشِئَةَ الَّیْلِ هِیَ اَشَدُّ وَطْاً وَّ اَقْوَمُ قِیْلًاﭤ(6)

Kanz ul Iman Kanz ul Irfan

Indeed, getting up in the night (for Salah), that is heavier (on the body) and the most appropriate (time) for the words to flow properly.

73.7

اِنَّ لَكَ فِی النَّهَارِ سَبْحًا طَوِیْلًاﭤ(7)

Kanz ul Iman Kanz ul Irfan

Indeed, you have many tasks (to perform) during the day.

73.8

وَ اذْكُرِ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ وَ تَبَتَّلْ اِلَیْهِ تَبْتِیْلًاﭤ(8)

Kanz ul Iman Kanz ul Irfan

And remember the Name of your Lord; and separating from everyone else, devote yourself solely to Him.

73.9

رَبُّ الْمَشْرِقِ وَ الْمَغْرِبِ لَاۤ اِلٰهَ اِلَّا هُوَ فَاتَّخِذْهُ وَكِیْلًا(9)

Kanz ul Iman Kanz ul Irfan

He is the Lord of the East and the Lord of the West; there is no one worthy of worship except Him, therefore make Him your sole Disposer of matters.

73.10

وَ اصْبِرْ عَلٰى مَا یَقُوْلُوْنَ وَ اهْجُرْهُمْ هَجْرًا جَمِیْلًا(10)

Kanz ul Iman Kanz ul Irfan

And be patient with what the disbelievers say, and leave them gracefully.
