Surah Al Buruj Translation

85.1

وَ السَّمَآءِ ذَاتِ الْبُرُوْجِۙ (1)

Kanz ul Iman Kanz ul Irfan

By the oath of the sky which contains the great stars.

85.2

وَ الْیَوْمِ الْمَوْعُوْدِۙ (2)

Kanz ul Iman Kanz ul Irfan

And by that Day which is promised.

85.3

وَ شَاهِدٍ وَّ مَشْهُوْدٍﭤ(3)

Kanz ul Iman Kanz ul Irfan

And by that day which is a witness (i.e. Friday) and by that day in which the people present themselves (i.e. the day of 'Arafah).

85.4

قُتِلَ اَصْحٰبُ الْاُخْدُوْدِۙ (4)

Kanz ul Iman Kanz ul Irfan

May the People of the Trench (of fire) be cursed (who tortured the believers).

85.5

النَّارِ ذَاتِ الْوَقُوْدِۙ (5)

Kanz ul Iman Kanz ul Irfan

Those who lit that blazing fire.

85.6

اِذْ هُمْ عَلَیْهَا قُعُوْدٌۙ (6)

Kanz ul Iman Kanz ul Irfan

When they were sitting at its borders.

85.7

وَّ هُمْ عَلٰى مَا یَفْعَلُوْنَ بِالْمُؤْمِنِیْنَ شُهُوْدٌﭤ(7)

Kanz ul Iman Kanz ul Irfan

And they themselves are witnesses to what they were doing to the Muslims.

85.8

وَ مَا نَقَمُوْا مِنْهُمْ اِلَّاۤ اَنْ یُّؤْمِنُوْا بِاللّٰهِ الْعَزِیْزِ الْحَمِیْدِۙ (8)

Kanz ul Iman Kanz ul Irfan

And what did they dislike of the Muslims except this that they believed in Allah, the Most Honourable, the Most Praiseworthy?

85.9

الَّذِیْ لَهٗ مُلْكُ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَ الْاَرْضِؕ-وَ اللّٰهُ عَلٰى كُلِّ شَیْءٍ شَهِیْدٌﭤ(9)

Kanz ul Iman Kanz ul Irfan

That to only Him belongs the kingdom of the heavens and the earth, and Allah is Witness upon everything.

85.10

اِنَّ الَّذِیْنَ فَتَنُوا الْمُؤْمِنِیْنَ وَ الْمُؤْمِنٰتِ ثُمَّ لَمْ یَتُوْبُوْا فَلَهُمْ عَذَابُ جَهَنَّمَ وَ لَهُمْ عَذَابُ الْحَرِیْقِﭤ(10)

Kanz ul Iman Kanz ul Irfan

Indeed, those who tortured the Muslim men and the Muslim women (by burning them) and then did not repent, for them is the punishment of Hell and for them is the punishment of the Fire.
