Surah Nuh Translation

71.1

اِنَّاۤ اَرْسَلْنَا نُوْحًا اِلٰى قَوْمِهٖۤ اَنْ اَنْذِرْ قَوْمَكَ مِنْ قَبْلِ اَنْ یَّاْتِیَهُمْ عَذَابٌ اَلِیْمٌ(1)

Indeed, We sent Nooh towards his people (ordering him) that 'Warn them before this that a painful punishment comes upon them.'

71.2

قَالَ یٰقَوْمِ اِنِّیْ لَكُمْ نَذِیْرٌ مُّبِیْنٌۙ (2)

Kanz ul Iman Kanz ul Irfan

He said, 'O my people! I am a clear warner to you.'

71.3

اَنِ اعْبُدُوا اللّٰهَ وَ اتَّقُوْهُ وَ اَطِیْعُوْنِۙ (3)

Kanz ul Iman Kanz ul Irfan

'That you should worship Allah and fear Him, and obey me.'

71.4

یَغْفِرْ لَكُمْ مِّنْ ذُنُوْبِكُمْ وَ یُؤَخِّرْكُمْ اِلٰۤى اَجَلٍ مُّسَمًّىؕ-اِنَّ اَجَلَ اللّٰهِ اِذَا جَآءَ لَا یُؤَخَّرُۘ-لَوْ كُنْتُمْ تَعْلَمُوْنَ(4)

Kanz ul Iman Kanz ul Irfan

'He will forgive some of your sins and give you respite up to an appointed term; indeed, the promise of Allah is not averted when it arrives; had you somehow known.'

71.5

قَالَ رَبِّ اِنِّیْ دَعَوْتُ قَوْمِیْ لَیْلًا وَّ نَهَارًاۙ (5)

Kanz ul Iman Kanz ul Irfan

He submitted, 'O my Lord, I invited my people night and day.'

71.6

فَلَمْ یَزِدْهُمْ دُعَآءِیْۤ اِلَّا فِرَارًا(6)

Kanz ul Iman Kanz ul Irfan

'So, my invitation only increased their fleeing (from the truth).'

71.7

وَ اِنِّیْ كُلَّمَا دَعَوْتُهُمْ لِتَغْفِرَ لَهُمْ جَعَلُوْۤا اَصَابِعَهُمْ فِیْۤ اٰذَانِهِمْ وَ اسْتَغْشَوْا ثِیَابَهُمْ وَ اَصَرُّوْا وَ اسْتَكْبَرُوا اسْتِكْبَارًاۚ (7)

Kanz ul Iman Kanz ul Irfan

'And every time I invited them, that You may forgive them, they always thrust their fingers into their ears and covered themselves with their garments, and remained persistent (in their refusal) and were extremely arrogant.'

71.8

ثُمَّ اِنِّیْ دَعَوْتُهُمْ جِهَارًاۙ (8)

Kanz ul Iman Kanz ul Irfan

'I then invited them openly.'

71.9

ثُمَّ اِنِّیْۤ اَعْلَنْتُ لَهُمْ وَ اَسْرَرْتُ لَهُمْ اِسْرَارًاۙ (9)

Kanz ul Iman Kanz ul Irfan

'Then I also spoke to them in public and also spoke to them softly in private.'

71.10

فَقُلْتُ اسْتَغْفِرُوْا رَبَّكُمْؕ-اِنَّهٗ كَانَ غَفَّارًاۙ (10)

Kanz ul Iman Kanz ul Irfan

I therefore told them, 'Seek forgiveness from your Lord; He is Most Forgiving.'
