Surah Al Jin Translation

72.1

قُلْ اُوْحِیَ اِلَیَّ اَنَّهُ اسْتَمَعَ نَفَرٌ مِّنَ الْجِنِّ فَقَالُوْۤا اِنَّا سَمِعْنَا قُرْاٰنًا عَجَبًاۙ (1)

Say you (O Beloved), 'I have received the revelation that some Jinn attentively listened to my recitation,' so they said (to other Jinn when they went back), 'We have heard a wonderful Qur'aan.'

72.2

یَّهْدِیْۤ اِلَى الرُّشْدِ فَاٰمَنَّا بِهٖؕ-وَ لَنْ نُّشْرِكَ بِرَبِّنَاۤ اَحَدًاۙ (2)

Kanz ul Iman Kanz ul Irfan

'That guides to the path of goodness, we have therefore believed in it; and we shall never ascribe anyone as a partner to our Lord.'

72.3

وَّ اَنَّهٗ تَعٰلٰى جَدُّ رَبِّنَا مَا اتَّخَذَ صَاحِبَةً وَّ لَا وَلَدًاۙ (3)

Kanz ul Iman Kanz ul Irfan

'And this; that the Glory of our Lord is most exalted, He has neither taken a wife nor a child (for Himself).'

72.4

وَّ اَنَّهٗ كَانَ یَقُوْلُ سَفِیْهُنَا عَلَى اللّٰهِ شَطَطًاۙ (4)

Kanz ul Iman Kanz ul Irfan

'And this; that the foolish amongst us used to say (things) concerning Allah whilst exceeding the limit.'

72.5

وَّ اَنَّا ظَنَنَّاۤ اَنْ لَّنْ تَقُوْلَ الْاِنْسُ وَ الْجِنُّ عَلَى اللّٰهِ كَذِبًاۙ (5)

Kanz ul Iman Kanz ul Irfan

'And this; that we thought that men and Jinn would never fabricate lie against Allah.'

72.6

وَّ اَنَّهٗ كَانَ رِجَالٌ مِّنَ الْاِنْسِ یَعُوْذُوْنَ بِرِجَالٍ مِّنَ الْجِنِّ فَزَادُوْهُمْ رَهَقًاۙ (6)

Kanz ul Iman Kanz ul Irfan

'And this; that some men amongst humans used to take the refuge of some men amongst Jinn, so it further increased the arrogance (of the community of Jinn).'

72.7

وَّ اَنَّهُمْ ظَنُّوْا كَمَا ظَنَنْتُمْ اَنْ لَّنْ یَّبْعَثَ اللّٰهُ اَحَدًاۙ (7)

Kanz ul Iman Kanz ul Irfan

'And this; that they assumed, like you assume, that Allah will never send any Messenger.'

72.8

وَّ اَنَّا لَمَسْنَا السَّمَآءَ فَوَجَدْنٰهَا مُلِئَتْ حَرَسًا شَدِیْدًا وَّ شُهُبًاۙ (8)

Kanz ul Iman Kanz ul Irfan

'And this; that we touched the sky, so we found that it was strongly guarded and filled with the blazing shooting stars.'

72.9

وَّ اَنَّا كُنَّا نَقْعُدُ مِنْهَا مَقَاعِدَ لِلسَّمْعِؕ-فَمَنْ یَّسْتَمِعِ الْاٰنَ یَجِدْ لَهٗ شِهَابًا رَّصَدًاۙ (9)

Kanz ul Iman Kanz ul Irfan

'And this; that previously we sometimes used to sit in some places in the sky to listen (to the conversation of the angels). Then now whoever tries to listen, he finds a blazing fire ready for him in ambush.'

72.10

وَّ اَنَّا لَا نَدْرِیْۤ اَشَرٌّ اُرِیْدَ بِمَنْ فِی الْاَرْضِ اَمْ اَرَادَ بِهِمْ رَبُّهُمْ رَشَدًاۙ (10)

Kanz ul Iman Kanz ul Irfan

'And this; that we do not know whether harm is intended for those on the earth, or whether their Lord has intended goodness for them.'
