Surah Al Ahqaf Translation

46.0

بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ

Kanz ul Iman Kanz ul Irfan

Allah's Name to commence with, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

46.1

حٰمٓۚ (1)

Kanz ul Iman Kanz ul Irfan

Ha-Meem. (These are individual letters of the Arabic alphabet; Allah and His Messenger know their exact meanings.)

46.2

تَنْزِیْلُ الْكِتٰبِ مِنَ اللّٰهِ الْعَزِیْزِ الْحَكِیْمِ(2)

Kanz ul Iman Kanz ul Irfan

The sending down of this Book (i.e. the Qur'aan) is from Allah, the Honourable, the Wise.

46.3

مَا خَلَقْنَا السَّمٰوٰتِ وَ الْاَرْضَ وَ مَا بَیْنَهُمَاۤ اِلَّا بِالْحَقِّ وَ اَجَلٍ مُّسَمًّىؕ-وَ الَّذِیْنَ كَفَرُوْا عَمَّاۤ اُنْذِرُوْا مُعْرِضُوْنَ(3)

Kanz ul Iman Kanz ul Irfan

We did not create the heavens and the earth and whatever is between them except with the truth (that it denotes upon Our Oneness and Power), and for a fixed period (i.e. till the Day of Judgement), and the disbelievers are turned away from what they were warned about.

46.4

قُلْ اَرَءَیْتُمْ مَّا تَدْعُوْنَ مِنْ دُوْنِ اللّٰهِ اَرُوْنِیْ مَا ذَا خَلَقُوْا مِنَ الْاَرْضِ اَمْ لَهُمْ شِرْكٌ فِی السَّمٰوٰتِؕ-اِیْتُوْنِیْ بِكِتٰبٍ مِّنْ قَبْلِ هٰذَاۤ اَوْ اَثٰرَةٍ مِّنْ عِلْمٍ اِنْ كُنْتُمْ صٰدِقِیْنَ(4)

Kanz ul Iman Kanz ul Irfan

Say you (O Beloved), 'Just tell me, those whom you worship other than Allah; show me which atom of the earth have they created, or do they have any share in the heavens? Bring to me any book preceding this (i.e. the Qur'aan), or some remains of knowledge (of the former people as proof), if you are truthful.'

46.5

وَ مَنْ اَضَلُّ مِمَّنْ یَّدْعُوْا مِنْ دُوْنِ اللّٰهِ مَنْ لَّا یَسْتَجِیْبُ لَهٗۤ اِلٰى یَوْمِ الْقِیٰمَةِ وَ هُمْ عَنْ دُعَآىٕهِمْ غٰفِلُوْنَ(5)

Kanz ul Iman Kanz ul Irfan

And who is more astray than the one who worships those other than Allah who do not listen to him, (even) until the Day of Resurrection, and who are absolutely unaware of their worship.

46.6

وَ اِذَا حُشِرَ النَّاسُ كَانُوْا لَهُمْ اَعْدَآءً وَّ كَانُوْا بِعِبَادَتِهِمْ كٰفِرِیْنَ(6)

Kanz ul Iman Kanz ul Irfan

And on the Day when people will be gathered, they (i.e. the idols) will be their enemies and will reject them.

46.7

وَ اِذَا تُتْلٰى عَلَیْهِمْ اٰیٰتُنَا بَیِّنٰتٍ قَالَ الَّذِیْنَ كَفَرُوْا لِلْحَقِّ لَمَّا جَآءَهُمْۙ-هٰذَا سِحْرٌ مُّبِیْنٌﭤ(7)

Kanz ul Iman Kanz ul Irfan

And when Our clear verses are recited upon them, so the disbelievers say regarding the truth which has come to them, 'This is open magic.'

46.8

اَمْ یَقُوْلُوْنَ افْتَرٰىهُؕ-قُلْ اِنِ افْتَرَیْتُهٗ فَلَا تَمْلِكُوْنَ لِیْ مِنَ اللّٰهِ شَیْــٴًـاؕ-هُوَ اَعْلَمُ بِمَا تُفِیْضُوْنَ فِیْهِؕ-كَفٰى بِهٖ شَهِیْدًۢا بَیْنِیْ وَ بَیْنَكُمْؕ-وَ هُوَ الْغَفُوْرُ الرَّحِیْمُ(8)

Kanz ul Iman Kanz ul Irfan

Do they say, 'He (i.e. the Prophet Muhammad) has fabricated it (i.e. the Qur'aan).'? Say you (O Beloved), 'If I had fabricated it, so you do not possess (the power to protect me) from Allah at all; He knows well the matters you are involved in; and He is sufficient as a Witness between me and you; and only He is the Most Forgiving, the Most Merciful.'

46.9

قُلْ مَا كُنْتُ بِدْعًا مِّنَ الرُّسُلِ وَ مَاۤ اَدْرِیْ مَا یُفْعَلُ بِیْ وَ لَا بِكُمْؕ-اِنْ اَتَّبِـعُ اِلَّا مَا یُوْحٰۤى اِلَیَّ وَ مَاۤ اَنَا اِلَّا نَذِیْرٌ مُّبِیْنٌ(9)

Kanz ul Iman Kanz ul Irfan

Say you (O Beloved), 'I am not a new Messenger (i.e. there were Messengers before me), nor do I know (on my own accord) what will happen to me or with you. I only follow that which is revealed to me, and I am not but only a warner.'
