Surah At Tahrim Translation

66.0

بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ

Allah's Name to commence with, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

66.1

یٰۤاَیُّهَا النَّبِیُّ لِمَ تُحَرِّمُ مَاۤ اَحَلَّ اللّٰهُ لَكَۚ-تَبْتَغِیْ مَرْضَاتَ اَزْوَاجِكَؕ-وَ اللّٰهُ غَفُوْرٌ رَّحِیْمٌ(1)

Kanz ul Iman Kanz ul Irfan

O Conveyor of the unseen news (i.e. Prophet), why are you making unlawful for yourself that thing which Allah has made lawful for you; you wish to please (some of your) wives. And Allah is the Most Forgiving, the Most Merciful.

66.2

قَدْ فَرَضَ اللّٰهُ لَكُمْ تَحِلَّةَ اَیْمَانِكُمْۚ-وَ اللّٰهُ مَوْلٰىكُمْۚ-وَ هُوَ الْعَلِیْمُ الْحَكِیْمُ(2)

Kanz ul Iman Kanz ul Irfan

Indeed, Allah has ordained expiation for you for your oaths; and Allah is your Master; and Allah is the All-Knowing, and the Wise.

66.3

وَ اِذْ اَسَرَّ النَّبِیُّ اِلٰى بَعْضِ اَزْوَاجِهٖ حَدِیْثًاۚ-فَلَمَّا نَبَّاَتْ بِهٖ وَ اَظْهَرَهُ اللّٰهُ عَلَیْهِ عَرَّفَ بَعْضَهٗ وَ اَعْرَضَ عَنْۢ بَعْضٍۚ-فَلَمَّا نَبَّاَهَا بِهٖ قَالَتْ مَنْ اَنْۢبَاَكَ هٰذَاؕ-قَالَ نَبَّاَنِیَ الْعَلِیْمُ الْخَبِیْرُ(3)

Kanz ul Iman Kanz ul Irfan

And when the Prophet (Muhammad) disclosed a matter in confidence to one of his wives, then when she happened to mention it and Allah made it known to the Prophet, so the Prophet told her part of it and held back a part; then when the Prophet informed her about it (i.e. disclosing the secret), she said, 'Who informed your respected self?' He said, 'The All-Knowing, the All-Aware has informed me.'

66.4

اِنْ تَتُوْبَاۤ اِلَى اللّٰهِ فَقَدْ صَغَتْ قُلُوْبُكُمَاۚ-وَ اِنْ تَظٰهَرَا عَلَیْهِ فَاِنَّ اللّٰهَ هُوَ مَوْلٰىهُ وَ جِبْرِیْلُ وَ صَالِحُ الْمُؤْمِنِیْنَۚ-وَ الْمَلٰٓىٕكَةُ بَعْدَ ذٰلِكَ ظَهِیْرٌ(4)

Kanz ul Iman Kanz ul Irfan

(O) you two wives of the Prophet (Muhammad), if you turn towards Allah with repentance, so your hearts have certainly moved away a little; and if you (two) strengthen each other against him, so Allah is indeed his Helper, and Jibra'eel and the virtuous believers; and after that the angels are also (his) supporters.

66.5

عَسٰى رَبُّهٗۤ اِنْ طَلَّقَكُنَّ اَنْ یُّبْدِلَهٗۤ اَزْوَاجًا خَیْرًا مِّنْكُنَّ مُسْلِمٰتٍ مُّؤْمِنٰتٍ قٰنِتٰتٍ تٰٓىٕبٰتٍ عٰبِدٰتٍ سٰٓىٕحٰتٍ ثَیِّبٰتٍ وَّ اَبْكَارًا(5)

Kanz ul Iman Kanz ul Irfan

If he divorces you, it is close that his Lord will give him wives better than you in your place; submissive, believing, obedient, repenting, worshiping, fasting, widows and virgins.

66.6

یٰۤاَیُّهَا الَّذِیْنَ اٰمَنُوْا قُوْۤا اَنْفُسَكُمْ وَ اَهْلِیْكُمْ نَارًا وَّ قُوْدُهَا النَّاسُ وَ الْحِجَارَةُ عَلَیْهَا مَلٰٓىٕكَةٌ غِلَاظٌ شِدَادٌ لَّا یَعْصُوْنَ اللّٰهَ مَاۤ اَمَرَهُمْ وَ یَفْعَلُوْنَ مَا یُؤْمَرُوْنَ(6)

Kanz ul Iman Kanz ul Irfan

O believers! Save yourselves and your families from the Fire, the fuel of which are humans and stones; appointed over it are extremely powerful angels who do not refuse the command of Allah and they only do what they are commanded.

66.7

یٰۤاَیُّهَا الَّذِیْنَ كَفَرُوْا لَا تَعْتَذِرُوا الْیَوْمَؕ-اِنَّمَا تُجْزَوْنَ مَا كُنْتُمْ تَعْمَلُوْنَ۠ (7)

Kanz ul Iman Kanz ul Irfan

(The angels appointed over Hell will say) 'O disbelievers! Do not make excuses this Day; you will only be recompensed for what you used to do.'

66.8

یٰۤاَیُّهَا الَّذِیْنَ اٰمَنُوْا تُوْبُوْۤا اِلَى اللّٰهِ تَوْبَةً نَّصُوْحًاؕ-عَسٰى رَبُّكُمْ اَنْ یُّكَفِّرَ عَنْكُمْ سَیِّاٰتِكُمْ وَ یُدْخِلَكُمْ جَنّٰتٍ تَجْرِیْ مِنْ تَحْتِهَا الْاَنْهٰرُۙ-یَوْمَ لَا یُخْزِی اللّٰهُ النَّبِیَّ وَ الَّذِیْنَ اٰمَنُوْا مَعَهٗۚ-نُوْرُهُمْ یَسْعٰى بَیْنَ اَیْدِیْهِمْ وَ بِاَیْمَانِهِمْ یَقُوْلُوْنَ رَبَّنَاۤ اَتْمِمْ لَنَا نُوْرَنَا وَ اغْفِرْ لَنَاۚ-اِنَّكَ عَلٰى كُلِّ شَیْءٍ قَدِیْرٌ(8)

Kanz ul Iman Kanz ul Irfan

O believers! Repent to Allah with such repentance which becomes advice for the future; it is close that your Lord may remove your sins and admit you into Gardens beneath which rivers flow on the Day when Allah will not disgrace the Prophet and the believers along with him; their light will be running ahead of them and (running) on their right; they will submit, 'O our Lord, complete our light for us, and forgive us; indeed, You have power over all things.'

66.9

یٰۤاَیُّهَا النَّبِیُّ جَاهِدِ الْكُفَّارَ وَ الْمُنٰفِقِیْنَ وَ اغْلُظْ عَلَیْهِمْؕ-وَ مَاْوٰىهُمْ جَهَنَّمُؕ-وَ بِئْسَ الْمَصِیْرُ(9)

Kanz ul Iman Kanz ul Irfan

O Conveyor of the unseen news (i.e. Prophet), strive against the (unruly) disbelievers and the hypocrites, and be stern with them; and their abode is Hell, and what an evil outcome.

سورة التحريم
