Surah Al Hujurat Translation

49.0

بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ

Allah's Name to commence with, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

49.1

یٰۤاَیُّهَا الَّذِیْنَ اٰمَنُوْا لَا تُقَدِّمُوْا بَیْنَ یَدَیِ اللّٰهِ وَ رَسُوْلِهٖ وَ اتَّقُوا اللّٰهَؕ-اِنَّ اللّٰهَ سَمِیْعٌ عَلِیْمٌ(1)

Kanz ul Iman Kanz ul Irfan

O believers! Do not advance yourselves before (the command of) Allah and His (Beloved) Messenger, and fear Allah; indeed, Allah is All-Hearing, All-Knowing.

49.2

یٰۤاَیُّهَا الَّذِیْنَ اٰمَنُوْا لَا تَرْفَعُوْۤا اَصْوَاتَكُمْ فَوْقَ صَوْتِ النَّبِیِّ وَ لَا تَجْهَرُوْا لَهٗ بِالْقَوْلِ كَجَهْرِ بَعْضِكُمْ لِبَعْضٍ اَنْ تَحْبَطَ اَعْمَالُكُمْ وَ اَنْتُمْ لَا تَشْعُرُوْنَ(2)

Kanz ul Iman Kanz ul Irfan

O believers! Do not raise your voices higher than the voice of this Conveyor of the unseen (i.e. the Beloved Prophet Muhammad), and nor speak aloud in his august court just like you speak aloud to one another amongst yourselves, in case your deeds go to waste whilst you are unaware.

49.3

اِنَّ الَّذِیْنَ یَغُضُّوْنَ اَصْوَاتَهُمْ عِنْدَ رَسُوْلِ اللّٰهِ اُولٰٓىٕكَ الَّذِیْنَ امْتَحَنَ اللّٰهُ قُلُوْبَهُمْ لِلتَّقْوٰىؕ-لَهُمْ مَّغْفِرَةٌ وَّ اَجْرٌ عَظِیْمٌ(3)

Kanz ul Iman Kanz ul Irfan

Indeed, those who lower their voices in the august court of Allah's (Beloved) Messenger, they are the ones whose hearts Allah has tested for piety; for them is forgiveness and great reward.

49.4

اِنَّ الَّذِیْنَ یُنَادُوْنَكَ مِنْ وَّرَآءِ الْحُجُرٰتِ اَكْثَرُهُمْ لَا یَعْقِلُوْنَ(4)

Kanz ul Iman Kanz ul Irfan

Indeed, those who call you from outside the rooms (of your private residence), most of them do not have any sense (regarding your lofty status).

49.5

وَ لَوْ اَنَّهُمْ صَبَرُوْا حَتّٰى تَخْرُ جَ اِلَیْهِمْ لَكَانَ خَیْرًا لَّهُمْؕ-وَ اللّٰهُ غَفُوْرٌ رَّحِیْمٌ(5)

Kanz ul Iman Kanz ul Irfan

And had they been patient until you yourself would come out (from your rooms) to them, so it would have been better for them. And Allah is Most Forgiving, Most Merciful.

49.6

یٰۤاَیُّهَا الَّذِیْنَ اٰمَنُوْۤا اِنْ جَآءَكُمْ فَاسِقٌۢ بِنَبَاٍ فَتَبَیَّنُوْۤا اَنْ تُصِیْبُوْا قَوْمًۢا بِجَهَالَةٍ فَتُصْبِحُوْا عَلٰى مَا فَعَلْتُمْ نٰدِمِیْنَ(6)

Kanz ul Iman Kanz ul Irfan

O believers! If any sinner brings you some news, so you must investigate (it) in case you unknowingly cause suffering to some people then (later on) remain regretful for what you have done.

49.7

وَ اعْلَمُوْۤا اَنَّ فِیْكُمْ رَسُوْلَ اللّٰهِؕ-لَوْ یُطِیْعُكُمْ فِیْ كَثِیْرٍ مِّنَ الْاَمْرِ لَعَنِتُّمْ وَ لٰكِنَّ اللّٰهَ حَبَّبَ اِلَیْكُمُ الْاِیْمَانَ وَ زَیَّنَهٗ فِیْ قُلُوْبِكُمْ وَ كَرَّهَ اِلَیْكُمُ الْكُفْرَ وَ الْفُسُوْقَ وَ الْعِصْیَانَؕ-اُولٰٓىٕكَ هُمُ الرّٰشِدُوْنَۙ (7)

Kanz ul Iman Kanz ul Irfan

And know that Allah's (Beloved) Messenger is amongst you; if he acts according to your liking in many of your matters, so you would certainly be in trouble. But Allah has made faith dear to you and has beautified it in your hearts, and has made disbelief, and disobedience, and sinning detested to you. The very same people are on the path (of guidance).

49.8

فَضْلًا مِّنَ اللّٰهِ وَ نِعْمَةًؕ-وَ اللّٰهُ عَلِیْمٌ حَكِیْمٌ(8)

Kanz ul Iman Kanz ul Irfan

(They love faith because of) the Benevolence and Favour of Allah; and Allah is All-Knowing, Ever Wise.

49.9

وَ اِنْ طَآىٕفَتٰنِ مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِیْنَ اقْتَتَلُوْا فَاَصْلِحُوْا بَیْنَهُمَاۚ-فَاِنْۢ بَغَتْ اِحْدٰىهُمَا عَلَى الْاُخْرٰى فَقَاتِلُوا الَّتِیْ تَبْغِیْ حَتّٰى تَفِیْٓءَ اِلٰۤى اَمْرِ اللّٰهِۚ-فَاِنْ فَآءَتْ فَاَصْلِحُوْا بَیْنَهُمَا بِالْعَدْلِ وَ اَقْسِطُوْاؕ-اِنَّ اللّٰهَ یُحِبُّ الْمُقْسِطِیْنَ(9)

Kanz ul Iman Kanz ul Irfan

And if two groups of Muslims fight each other, so (O Muslims) make peace between them. Then if one oppresses the other, so fight with that oppressing group, until it reverts to the command of Allah. Then if it reverts, so reconcile between them with justice, and act justly (in every issue); indeed, Allah loves the just ones.

سورة الحجرت
